ABC Book: Letter O
The ABC Book Project was a collaborative project where each classmate randomly selected a letter for the alphabet and then created an Illustration for it, based on a sentence created or provided. The design and sentence had to include terms and elements from VCD, to reflect what VCD can relate to. This project was then compiled into a book and was available for print.

Sentence Development
To gather the terms that would be included within everyone's sentence, the class divided into groups to come up with as many words for each letter as possible. Then we all gathered back and discussed what we all came up with, getting rid of duplicates and making sure to add as much as possible. From there, we were able to create our own sentences and move forward with it or go with the sentence provided for us.
Sketches
I started out with a few different concepts and then created versions of those concepts, keeping in mind, composition, type and overall motif of O throughout the design.
Digital Progress
First digital version where I blocked shapes over my most successful sketch.
I started refining shapes, backgrounds, additional elements, colors and where the type would run.
This shows the physical, cut paper, version of the design, with the type added in Illustrator.

I experimented and learned how to use cut paper in this class, and this is a close up of the layers within the design.
This is the final physical version of the design, with the type and some shapes added in with Illustrator.
